Multigenerational Family Portraits | Colorado Springs Family Photographer

Earlier this summer, we had such a wonderful time capturing this fun-loving, tight-knit family who enjoy a beautiful closeness across their many households and four generations. Multigenerational portrait sessions are rare and special – it takes a LOT of coordination to gather nearly 30 family members together! And yet they create family legacy that is absolutely priceless and worth the effort.

We love all the beautiful relationships captured across these portraits, and while we couldn’t feature all of the various groupings photographed, we’re excited to share a sampling here that showcases some of the broad range of groupings that are captured at these portrait sessions.

We had such a wonderful time with all of them, and they are one of those families that made us feel like family!

Our multigenerational sessions are geared to some specific locations that offer the right amount of parking, limit walking to/from the portrait settings, and offer amazing views of our Colorado landscape. We gather the priority groupings to be photographed ahead of time so that the groupings that matter most to each family are planned for and not missed. We are always happy to add to that list as time allows, and we know that there are always more ideas that surface during the session.

Calvin | Lewis Palmer High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2027

We have been looking forward to seeing this family again for Calvin’s senior portraits since capturing his older brother’s senior portraits in 2019! Baseball has been part of Calvin’s world since the age of 3 when he began on a T-ball team. He’s had plenty of years with both school and club teams and will focus exclusively on Lewis Palmer’s team for his senior year. During games, you will find him either on the pitching mound or in the outfield. When he’s not competing on the baseball field, he loves hiking, video gaming, and enjoying Qdoba..cheers for free queso and guacamole!

Calvin was excited for a portrait setting that would have a mountainous and more isolated feel. We love that Calvin was up for some extra adventure for his session as a light mist was falling. That bit of moisture always creates a richness in the coloring of the paths and rocks and certainly makes for a memorable portrait experience. Plus, that weather steered away other people, giving him an even greater sense of being in the remote wilderness. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As Calvin completes high school, his sights are set on pursuing a career as a firefighter. He’s well on his way as he will be taking both EMT and fire science classes this year. We wish him an amazing senior year and know he’s going to be an incredible asset wherever he serves as a firefighter in his next life chapters.

Cristina | Pine Creek High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2027

Cristina is excited to begin senior year at Pine Creek High School! She is an avid reader, especially of mysteries and dystopian novels, and she also enjoys writing. While she has that quiet side to her, her thoughtfulness and sense of humor shine when she’s enjoying time with her friends. After she finishes high school, she’s planning to pursue a career as a psychiatrist.

Cristina’s senior portraits are stunningly gorgeous with her elevated, timeless attire captured in the Studio setting. Studio portraiture pairs incredibly well with elevated attire and creates images where the subject shines within the subtle simplicity of textured and simple-toned backgrounds.

Cristina, we have loved created these classy senior portraits for you and wish you an AMAZING senior year! See you in the Spring for your Cap & Gown session ๐Ÿ™‚

Annie | The Classical Academy High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2027

It has been such a treat to reconnect with Annie’s family for her senior portraits after photographing family portraits for them 10 years ago.

Annie is an insanely talented musician, especially when you learn she’s self-taught for most of the instruments she plays…and it’s an impressive list! She plays oboe, saxophone, keys, and both electric and acoustic guitar. At TCA, she’s active in the marching band (as Drum Major!), symphonic ensemble, and jazz band. At her church, she serves on the worship team. Additionally, she already performs at the collegiate level with the UCCS orchestra. Simply amazing.

With the abundant role music plays in her life (pun intended!!), her instruments were prominantly featured across her two portrait sessions – one to lean heavily into her music performance with a nod to marching band, and then a gorgeous outdoor, natural setting.

As Annie wraps up high school this year, it’s fitting that she plans to pursue a career in secondary music education. We know the combination of her incredible musical talents with her bubbly, kind, compassionate nature will make her an amazing music educator!

Here’s what her mom had to say about the experience with us in her Google review: Jonathan and Lindsay are amazing to work with. My senior not only felt comfortable but she said it was so much fun doing her senior photo shoots. I know the quality of prints Iโ€™m going to get are phenomenal and the entire experience makes it worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Abby | Alamosa High School Senior Portraits | Destination: Colorado Springs for Class of 2026 Graduation Photography

Abby is one of Alamosa High School’s most recent GRADUATES, and we loved capturing her senior portraits here in Colorado Springs! During high school, Abby excelled academically and athletically, competing on her cross country and track teams as well as swim team. She served as a life guard during her summers.

For her senior portraits, we matched her to a great local part setting with views to the Front Range and beautiful trees and flowers…and the sunset ending her photography session was just beautiful!

Congratulations, Abby, and we wish you the best as you begin your next chapters in life!
